ปัจจุบันศูนย์วิจัยพืชไร่ขอนแก่นได้ขยายอ้อยโคลนพันธุ์ กวก.ขอนแก่น 4 พื้นที่จำนวน 2 ไร่ สามารถปลูกขยายได้ 15 ไร่ โดยเกษตรกรจะมีรายได้จากการปลูกอ้อยพันธุ์ กวก. ขอนแก่น 4 (อ้อยปลูก อ้อยตอ 1 และอ้อยตอ 2) เป็นเงินจำนวนไร่ละ 44,164 บาท สูงกว่าพันธุ์ขอนแก่น 3 และ K88-92
นอกจากนั้น อ้อยพันธุ์ กวก.ขอนแก่น 4 ได้ผ่านการรับรองพันธุ์ประเภทพันธุ์แนะนำไปเมื่อวันที่ 8 สิงหาคม 2566 จึงเป็นพืชทางเลือกเพื่อสร้างรายได้ที่เพิ่มขึ้นให้แก่เกษตรกร

Distinctive features include a sugarcane yield of 11.71 tons per rai, an average bagasse yield of 1.96 tons per rai, and an average fiber content of 17.12 percent. It also yields 523 kilograms of molasses per rai, higher than Khon Kaen 3 and K88-92 varieties.
Importantly, it generates 596 kilowatts of electricity per rai and 496 cubic meters of biogas per rai per year. Higher than Khon Kaen 3.
Currently, the Khon Kaen Field Crops Research Center has expanded the sugarcane clone KKK.Khon Kaen 4 on 2 rai of land. This can be expanded to 15 rai. Farmers will earn 44,164 baht per rai from growing KKK.Khon Kaen 4 (planted sugarcane, ratoon 1, and ratoon 2), higher than Khon Kaen 3 and K88-92.
Furthermore, KKK.Khon Kaen 4 was certified as a recommended variety on August 8, 2023, making it an alternative crop to generate additional income for farmers.
